I am so excited to share this video with you! On Monday I was given the opportunity to get onto a Facebook live with It Works’ Chief Networking Officer Pam Sowder! Pam is such an inspiration to so many women in this business, and she started with the company from the ground up.
I was able to share my story, business building tips, and motivation for everyone that is apart of our amazing company and anyone thinking of joining!
Being able to share my story to help others is something that is so important to me. We all start at square one. No matter what your dream is, you aren’t an expert the day that you decide to start! There will always be seasons of learning, and times that it can be hard.
I think a lot of people forget that it’s okay to be a beginner. A lot of people think the road to success is a straight shot. And knowing that over the past years there has been a lot of seasons of winning for me, there’s also been times that are hard!
It’s not easy to do what we do. If it was, everyone would be doing it! But it is simple. It comes down to deciding that you are going to use this business for what it is, an amazing opportunity! What we do is simple. We’re influencers of amazing products, building our lives and business around that!
But on top of that, we are able to meet amazing women and help them reach their goals, and that is truly my favorite part. It’s not about me, it’s about all of you. It’s about all of the women who are building up other women! When you start to see what network marketing truly is, you’ll be kicking yourself that you didn’t decide to start sooner!
Let me know what you thought of my call, and if you ever want business advice, or to learn more about what I do, I’m an instagram DM away!
The shortest month of the year is always crazy for all of my network marketing babes! We have deadlines to hit, lives to change, and promotions that we all run after.
A lot my followers always ask me what my day to day looks like, and I truly want to give you some insight on life and the way that we build up the amazing businesses that we are apart of!
So… if you truly want to know what my day is like- keep on reading!
I don’t have an alarm clock unless I absolutely have to get up! But, I usually wake up around 8:30 in the morning, and start my day off with a team zoom conference. We plan posts, Instagram stories, chat with ladies from the night before, and grow our networks. One of my favorite things to do is start my day with my team. It fills my cup and seeing the excitement from everyone in the beginning of the day is exactly what I need! Striating your day on your own terms and time is life changing. When I left my marketing firm in November I was the queen of setting alarms, and hitting snooze. I now wake up inspired and excited- ask my roommate she will tell you I can be too much energy in the morning!
I journal every single morning with my Dream Life Daily Journal. If ya’ll don’t have a copy of this, you NEED ONE! No matter what your profession is. It is the best feeling to see you life goals, daily goals, and prayers written down. It takes 20 minutes out of your day, I sip my coffee and take a breath. (And yes I am 100% drinking my keto coffee topped with whipped cream as per usual!) My cats distract me, my house can be little too clean, and I work from my bed, desk, or couch. The Office is almost always on repeat in the background.
Throughout the day I am marketing on my insta, hopping onto calls, chatting and training with my team, or heading off to work with some of my local teammates! I can always pick up my business, or take a break! The day of the week doesn’t matter anymore, if I want to adventure, go skiing, shop, head to the gym, I can work and do both! I used to constantly be waiting for the weekend. Now, I always forget what day of the week it is!
Sometimes, I’m in my pjs all day, working on 6 hours of sleep, on my 4th cup of coffee, and running out of dry shampoo, but I wouldn’t change that for the world.
I work my business every single day, but on MY terms and no one else’s. The deadlines that I miss are on me, the goals I hit are on me! Can you imagine your day like that?
After dinner, I always check in with everyone! Most of my clients and teammates are free in the evening. 90% of them work this business while in school, or with another job, or BOTH!
I know it seems like this business is simple, and easy! Well, that’s because it IS! But, it’s still a business. You have to show up for your business. Joining a company then doing nothing will get you nowhere! Let me put it this way, if you were given a pizza restaurant, a secret recipe to success, all the tools you need to be successful, but you never show up and hire anyone to help… what do you think will happen? Your business will never be successful!
Our team is experiencing massive growth because we have people showing up every day. Women building other women up, tools to help us be the best we can be, and an amazing company behind us.
Before I go to bed, I am always reading, watching self development, or listening to podcasts of people who are more successful than me.
Can you see this being your day? Even if you start by adding it to your schedule that you have now? We all start at square one, hoping and praying this business will work.
Knowing that in 28 days I have changed hundreds of lives fuels me. The months may fly by, but every day I am doing work that makes me feel so fulfilled. So… are you ready yet???
On your instagram profiles you see it all the time- women making an extra income from their phone, sometimes an amount so big- that it’s hard to wrap your mind around it. How can you make so much money from posting on social media? How is it possible that this girls’ life is such an adventure?
I had these questions too! Especially before I joined. So many of you who read my blog, also follow me on my Insta, and you can see my highlight reel daily with all of the things that I’ve been up to. But it didn’t start that way, and I want you to know that! Even right now as I type this blog my hair is up in a messy bun, I have no makeup on, and I’m in a cozy sweatshirt.
I was just like you. I saw people absolutely killing their businesses and making a full time income while also being in college, raising their kids, and having the freedom of time. But I was nervous to ask HOW, I was scared that it wouldn’t work for me. My life was average, I didn’t know a ton of people, my insta had 350 followers and I can promise you I couldn’t take a cute selfie to save my life.
In the summer of 2015 I finally decided that my life needed a change. I took the leap to join It Works without truly understanding all of the things that this company would give me. I was a junior in college, on the executive board of ADPi, working, going to school, and I had an internship. Did I feel ready to start this?? NO! Was I scared? YES! But, I thought to myself the best things that have ever happened in my life are on the other side of fear.
Over the next few months, I jumped into learning about the business, the compensation plan, and how to take a good selfie! (Pro tip: set your phone up in the windowsill and set a timer! It’s the best lighting). Some of you saw me start that journey, some of you see where I am today! I started to add our products into my daily life, and found a regime that helped me lose 14lbs!
My gosh you guys, the list of just the start of my journey can go on and on!
On top of making a full time income while still in college, I also started to meet some of the most down to earth women, who are inside and out amazing people. My closest friends are now because of this business, and I have friends all over the country. We build each other up and we are supportive of our dreams.
I get it, you need to think about it. It’s not the right time, you’re too busy. From al small town. Wouldn’t be able to do this like me. Oh wait… actually, I don’t get it anymore. I had all of those fears an excuses to not start. Some of my top leaders did too. But I now know for a fact, anyone that wants this opportunity can take this and run full force to change their life.
I think so many women need to push the excuses, fears, and he said she said about what we do aside, and TRY IT for themselves. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take!
I chose It Works because I wanted an extra $300 a month in college. I will continue to choose this company because of the lives I get to change, and the freedom I am able to have on this amazing adventure.
When will you say enough is enough, and finally join me?!
I should’ve known he wasn’t my match the minute I found out he was allergic to peanut butter… and my cats. But here I was, making him dinner, waiting for his responses, scheduling dates, and trying to see how we would fit into each others lives. He was my ideal, or so I thought. In finance, pretty big goals for life, the two kids and white picket fence dream.
So, I played along. We would go out every other week or so, network, he always paid for my drinks and washed the dishes when I cooked. About 2 months in I found out he was still on Bumble, but so was I, so he wasn’t seeing anyone else right? Or he was…
Four months go by, and I had to know. “What are we?” The answer I got- “We just aren’t on the same level.” I broke it off. I would not waste my time on another man who wasn’t ready for me. At this point, it was the 3rd man in 6 months I decided wasn’t for me. I didn’t flinch when Ed broke it off because ladies, he was not worth my time or tears.
There were more dates, friends of friends, a guy I met at a bar, one of my brothers best friends. A Ryan, Mike, another Mike, another Mike, another Ryan. Small talk, drinks, learning about each others lives.
After dating someone for 5 years, I had to see what else was out there. I felt like all the good ones were taken! All of the friends who had “great single guys,” were fixer uppers, but would be PERFECT for me. Bumble sucks, I wouldn’t even download tinder.
I wear my heart on my sleeve. If this story above sounds like your life, girl I get it.
Many women aren’t active in the dating field. But I like to play ball, be out on a Friday night. How am I supposed to meet my match, if I truly don’t know what my match was? To be honest, I have a much better idea of my ideal man. I know he is out there, but I truly don’t believe you know until you try.
If you’re like me, and want to date- I say go out and DO IT! Out of all the awful dates, awkward texts saying- it was fun but I’m going to pass, I also gained a true sense of self. And don’t get me wrong! I also had some great company and conversation. There were attributes of some men that I didn’t know I wanted in my life. Someone that will push me to grow my business, who I don’t need to take care of, that washes a dish and can do laundry.
I also had a man build me up to have the confidence to find a man that is “on my level.” Even though we didn’t work out, his big heart helped me remember why I wanted to be single in the first place. I finally remembered what falling in love met to me again.
My best advice to all of you single ladies out there- do you. Don’t let other people tell you what you want or need in a partner because they aren’t living your life. Find someone who makes you happy, and who is a good person. If you have a feeling they aren’t for you, go with that feeling. If they won’t give you the time of day, then don’t give them yours. DO NOT let a second chance turn into a third, or a fourth.
I unapologetically wear my heart on my sleeve because that is who I am. But, no one has the power to take that from me, and that is the most empowering part of being myself.
When I wake up in the morning I always try to start my day on a positive note. What you speak becomes your reality. I’ve truly learned that from constantly listening to self development and reading books upon books.
Right now, I have so many goals going through my head, so many things that I want to get done- and last night I hit a little bit of a slump. It happens. There is no way that every single day can be perfect. We are our own worst critics and sometimes, we need to get over ourselves. I told myself that I would throw a little pity party last night, bake some brownies, and wake up ready for today. It worked.
It’s okay to give yourself a break and catch a breath when you feel like you need one. Or else you’ll get totally burnt out and not get to where you want to be. But the most important thing to do is never stop.
I decided I was going to write myself a daily mantra for my business- that I could live by very day. We all have a daily mantra for life inside of us. When you wake up what is the first thing you tell yourself? “Today is going to be amazing?” Or “I’m already ready to be back in bed?” Or “Can I just reach this goal already?” See how each sentence in itself sets you up for a drastically different day. And no one sentence can define what you accomplish. If you are like me, there are thoughts constantly popping up in your head.
So what do you tell yourself daily? Even if you have to force yourself to smile in the mirror and say that you will have a good day. Or put on your favorite lipstick, playlist, outfit, or shoes- to spark some positive thoughts.
A lot of you know that I started to journal daily- using my Dream Life Daily Journal! It’s also helped me so much, not only with life and my business but also with my faith. Starting your day physically writing down goals is proven to help you reach them. There’s also daily affirmations to let yourself know that you are capable of what you say you are!
No matter what your goals are, they aren’t easy to achieve without letting yourself know you can achieve them. Stop wasting time wishing you are where you want to be. And start doing!
Birthdays seem to come faster and faster each year. Anyone else feel the same? How am I 24, just yesterday I was still in college, high school. 2009 was 10 years ago. Time flies when you’re having fun I guess!
Truly, I am never the girl who wants to make an entire month out of the day I was born. I just love to know people care about me- a card in the mail is one of my favorite things to get! And of course, spending the day with people I love.
This year, I have high expectations for myself. If you asked me if I thought I would be sitting in my home office today writing this blog as a full time entrepreneur, I probably would’ve said no. But life had other plans for me- in the best way possible!
So many of my friends who are in their mid twenties agree that it is such a crazy and transitional time of life. You start to reach your dreams that you wanted to get to as a kid, or you start to realize you need to go after those dreams. Some of your friends will leave your life, and new ones who have similar aspirations come into your life. You’re either single, or probably at getting ready to be engaged to your significant other.
I’ll leave my 24 year old self a note- for when I look back on this blog in 2020, 24 is going to be a good year for you, keep your head up and your goals set high!
Thank you to all the people who constantly make me a better version of myself and for all the birthday love!
It’s January 2nd, which means you just started- or already stopped- or are waiting to start your 2019 New Year’s resolution.
These past few years I’ve set a few resolutions. One for my health, one for my wealth, and one for my personal development. I can tell you that I have met some of these resolutions. But, like many people, have also fallen off the wagon and stopped them.
The great thing about a resolution is even if you stop, miss a day, week, or a month, there is always the next day to hit the reset button. Stating that you are going to work out every single day, then already missing today does not at all mean that you should be waiting until next year to get going again.
Do you ever have a feeling that you are about to have a good day? Well that’s how I feel about 2019, and I know a lot of you feel that way too!
I am by no means an expert on helping you keep your resolution, but I can tell you this. Don’t set a goal up for failure. If you go to the gym once a week- don’t tell yourself that you need to go every day. If you know you need to save $5000, don’t tell yourself that you can’t spend any money. It turns to shopping sprees and treat yourself moments that blow your budget.
One way that I like to set goals is using a qualitative measurement versus a quantitive number. Yes, I want to lose weight, have more money, and make myself an overall better person by doing X, Y, and Z. But I found that when you connect your feelings to your goals it makes it so much easier to reach.
When I lost 14lbs last year, I loved seeing that number on the scale, but I also loved the way looked in my favorite jeans and bathing suit more. My body had more energy, I felt better. From my paychecks I started to take $100 a week out of my checking account into an account I couldn’t electronically transfer from. I told myself that I needed to be a better leader and more assertive so my team could start to prosper as well. This lead me to make the decision to leave a job that no longer satisfied me or my goals.
I want you to know that I am rooting for you this year! Leave the goals and deadlines you didn’t meet in 2018, set new goals for this year, and get ready to make 2019 your year!
Happy happy holiday season! If you’re reading this blog, it’s probably two weeks out to Christmas, and you’re probably single.
This will be my second Christmas as a single lady, and I can’t believe how time flies. Last year my breakup was still so heartbreaking to me, and an open wound. It made me realize how the entire holiday season is so much different without your partner. In short, I was not in the holiday spirit and almost all of my gifts were bought last minute at Tjmaxx or the package store.
All of my friends were off at parties with their significant others, getting their Christmas trees together, and buying each other too many gifts. On top of that, have you ever noticed how almost every Christmas song involves having someone in your life? I felt like the Christmas season was out to get me.
This year- it’s been different!
This year, I was in the holiday spirit before Thanksgiving even hit! I started to decorate the day after, and my roomie was not prepared for our house to become a winter wonderland.
So what changed??? I did. I learned that this season is so much more than him. There are so many other people that you can spend time with through this season. I know my mom is so excited to not have me split up between two Christmases. I started to become happy without my other half and with me. And no, this is no BS sappy advice that I am trying to give you. But I’m trying to say that every day can get better. How many more years will you be able to spend with your family one on one? My mom is so excited to decorate the tree with me, and bake cookies. I have one of my best friends coming up to spend a week with me from Florida- and so many adventures in between.
I also have almost all of my Christmas shopping done, and I have a theme for my gift wrap. I’m spoiling so many friends and my family this year!
If you need to take this holiday one bottle of wine at a time, I get it. I’ve been there. But I also wish I let last year lift my sprits, and none of your friends want you to be the grinch. Go grab an ugly sweater and get back out there.
Every year at Thanksgiving the time comes around where I truly start to feel thankful for every little thing. When I was younger, I always liked Thanksgiving for the food, but waited for Christmas because that was the ‘better’ holiday- with gifts.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that it’s a million tiny things that make Thanksgiving one of the best holidays. My family’s table has gotten smaller throughout the years as loved ones have passed on. And so many things have changed especially this year.
The traditions that my family has taught me growing up, will stay forever though. Like waking up the day before Thanksgiving knowing that I’ll be spending the afternoon cutting apples, making pumpkin pie’s, getting the stuffing ready, and watching my mom prep the turkey. It’s so easy to remember the days where my grandma was able to make pies with us, but now it’s become a job for my mom and me. We quote classic family disputes, conversations and my dad even keeps our Hungarian prayer before we eat dinner.
In these coming years, I know that my family’s table will start to grow, with new family members, and friends to share the day with! Spending time with the people that matter most, is truly what this holiday is all about! Of course, you also have to eat way too much turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes!
In 2018, I’ve been thankful for so many things. Being able to spend the day with my mom, dad, brother, and sister in law is seriously one of the biggest blessings in itself! Sometimes, we get so caught up in the day today that we forget what the big picture is. I have a especially learned these past 11 months that putting yourself first, and your dreams first is the most important thing to do! I wouldn’t of been able to do it without the support of all of them!
November has been a big month for me, and as most of you know I went full-time as an entrepreneur with my business! It’s been a change, in the best way possible! As I’ve transitioned into this role, I’ve planned big things for my blog in these upcoming months!
To all of my readers, I’m so thankful for you! And I can’t wait to see where this new adventure brings me!
About a year ago, I was not only holding myself back with my business, but also my life. I wasn’t where I wanted to be and I was going through a tough breakup. At that point I didn’t feel like myself anymore. On top of not being mentally healthy, I was also the heaviest I had ever been in my life.
I kept telling myself that I was going to be better the next day, the next week, oh next month will be better. But nothing was even remotely close to where I wanted it to be. I decided I needed to take smaller steps to become a little better every day, and it was not easy. Sometimes I could take a step forward to take 10 steps back.
Nothing drastic happened overnight. It was a lot of little things that I slowly started to do that added up to me realizing that I was happy again. It’s taken almost a year. But step by step I’m making it there.
One of the many ‘little’ things that I added to my week was ballet. My mom asked me if I wanted to do an adult ballet class with her, she ALWAYS wanted to take ballet as a kid but never took a class in her life. How could I not support my mom and learn ballet with her? I used to be a dancer when I was younger, and I can tell you that I am NOT the best at it.
But I love it. During those weeks that I would barely want to get out of bed it was my stress reliever, exercise, and I always left with a smile on my face. After my first class of trying to remember all of the positions, French terms, and slipping my ballet shoes off my feet- I felt myself crying because I was so happy.
It was as simple as that. Adding that one little thing into my week. That change in my schedule fueled me to try more little by little, day by day. I can’t go a week now without scheduling a dance class in.
That was the beginning of my year of trying new things and really stepping out of my comfort zone. It was my choice for me, to make myself happier.
You’ve been meaning to try that new diet, you’ve been meaning to go to that new gym or try that new class, you’ve been meaning to start your new blog… but you don’t.
I seriously ask myself all the time, WHY aren’t you doing that thing that you said you were going to do two months ago. I can think of a million reasons (not very good ones) why I put things off. And then I start, and wonder why I haven’t been doing ‘it’ for months.
We’re all guilty of this pattern over and over. I wish I could tell you a way to break it, but procrastination is just too easy!
What I can tell you- is to go out and give it a try. Maybe this blog today is your reason to finally make that change!
